Column 110 - Part 1 - SELL THE SIZZLE, NOT THE STEAK! Part 1: Singing hallelujah throughout the Monterey Peninsula  (11/18/2016)
STREAMING news almost obscured the world’s loss of two shining lights in the wake of the Nov. 8 presidential hoopla. If one term praises both exalted decedents (Jewish poet/singer/songwriter Leonard Cohen, 82,on Nov. 10, and black reporter/presidential-debate moderator Gwen Ifill, 61, on Nov. 13) it’s the word “Hallelujah.”   (CLICK TO CONTINUE READING...)
Column 111 - Part 2 - SELL THE SIZZLE, NOT THE STEAK! Part 2: Government 101: Grassroots City Council Democracy  (11/25/2016)
FALLING rain didn’t faze Supervisor Jane Parker’s appearance to a damp-but-undaunted throng at the post-election-protest in Monterey last Sunday: “It’s going to be a long four years, perhaps longer…” she said. If the theme of Jane’s message to non-violent participants in the March for Equality spreads, much good can bless the peninsula regardless of rough presidential transitioning in Washington, DC. “Peace begins with a smile,”  (CLICK TO CONTINUE READING...)
Column 112 - Part 3 - SELL THE SIZZLE, NOT THE STEAK! Part 3: Helping solve homelessness the beneficent billionaire’s way  (12/2/2016)

Column 113 - Part 4 - SELL THE SIZZLE, NOT THE STEAK! Part 4: How to exercise your hometown rights to Freedom of Speech  (12/9/2016)
RULING autocratically seems to be the incoming administration’s style of forthcoming national governance. If Republican elector Christopher Suprun’s influence goes viral, the Dallas paramedic may cause traditional electoral-college dominoes to collapse.   (CLICK TO CONTINUE READING...)
Column 114 - Part 5 - SELL THE SIZZLE, NOT THE STEAK! Part 5: The Bard says it best: All the world’s a stage (12/16/2016)
NAMING former “Robocop” Arnold Schwarzenegger incoming star of “Celebrity Apprentice,” as NBC did earlier this week, should inspire you to run, not walk, to your next city council meeting. If you do, you’ll activate grassroots democracy pronto. Consider this fact: Schwarzenegger, 69, succeeds Trump, 70, who currently remains the reality show’s executive producer and is poised to be inaugurated as President of the US. One man served as 38th Governor of California, but is barred from being President because he was born in Austria. (CLICK TO CONTINUE READING...)
